Platinum Diamond Convertible Bow Brooch Double Clip 16 Carats Edwardian MDEB-00311

$45,000.00

Edwardian platinum diamond convertible bow brooch designed with a rare detachable mechanism allowing the jewel to be worn either as a single brooch or separated into two individual dress clips. This elegant platinum diamond brooch is set with twenty-eight baguette cut diamonds weighing approximately 11.43 carats combined and one hundred round brilliant cut diamonds weighing approximately 4.6 carats, for a total diamond weight of approximately 16 carats.

The diamonds are arranged in a refined ribbon motif characteristic of Edwardian jewelry design. The baguette cut diamonds provide strong linear definition throughout the bow, while the round brilliant cut diamonds add brilliance and depth across the composition.

This platinum diamond bow brooch measures approximately 67 mm by 37.3 mm and weighs 36.57 grams. The reverse reveals the original convertible system allowing the brooch to separate into two dress clips, a desirable feature in fine antique jewelry that allows the jewel to be worn on lapels, collars, or as a statement brooch.

The pin stems and convertible clip mechanism are platinum. One safety catch has been replaced with a 14 karat gold component, a typical service replacement found in antique jewelry.

Convertible diamond brooches and double clip brooches from the Edwardian period are increasingly sought after by collectors due to their craftsmanship, versatility, and distinctive early twentieth century design.
